Job Description

We are looking to employ a dedicated and experienced site supervisor to oversee waste management projects and supervise the waste management team in Orapa and Letlhakane. The site supervisor’s responsibilities include scheduling and equipment logistics, and induct new waste management employees.

To be successful as a site supervisor, you should be detail-oriented and knowledgeable of waste management requirements and mine safety regulations. Ultimately, an outstanding site supervisor should be able to interpret and produce reports as well as demonstrate exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Site Supervisor Responsibilities:
Inspecting area/site of responsibility regularly to identify and eliminate potential safety hazards.
• Supervising and instructing the waste management team as well as service providers.
• Educating site workers on mine safety regulations and accident protocol.
Ensuring compliance/ adherence to mine rules and regulations and ECHOS standards.
. Ensuring achievement of zero harm
• Handling site incidents in accordance with established incident protocol.
• Maintaining an accurate record of waste management employee attendance.
Evaluating the performance of waste management employees and instituting disciplinary measures as needed.
• Recommending changes to waste management operations or procedures to increase efficiency.
Site Supervisor Requirements:
Diploma in Waste Management, Environmental science/health or related field is preferred. A Bachelor’s degree will be an added advantage.
• Proven experience working as a site supervisor.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in a mining environment
• Sound knowledge of waste management and ECOHS
• Knowledge in ISO 14001 and 45001 standards
• Working knowledge of waste management tools and equipment.
• The ability to interpret and produce reports.

Class B drivers’ licence
